Has I was looking through different sites I then found this interesting book design; interesting because of the flip book cover which makes it stand out. The design is originally from a graphic communicator Rachel wells who was trying to make a book with the theme heroes. She mentions that the reason for using the flip page cover was to show a collaboration of the teamed up colours. I though this was an effective and simple way of showing what she wanted to do for the collaboration.
Has it has always been said in the sessions, the more simple the outcome of the design is the more appealing it is to others.

my illustrations design

The two images below are basically the illustration i have done. The sketch is where i started from as i like to draw my images first then scan it and improve it on the computer.
As you can see i have done different version of them to see which one is more effective.

t-shirt illustrations

As i was looking around for a design book, i found this book called '1000 garment graphics' and i though the cover was interesting but did not really expect much from it until i opened it and looked at the design which were inside...i was totally wowed by the designs that i decided to get them. The design in the book are clothing design which i think they can work as well on posters too. What i have realized by flicking through is that most of the illustration are quite randomly produced and out from the ordinary which has made me change my view about neat illustration. So from now on i will be random with my illustration...hmm...maybe doodling may help too check out future post to see what i have done but for now the images below will give a little outlook of some designs from the book.......enjoy!

Workshop (magazine design front cover)

The workshop consisted of helping with how to design a cover of a magazine. For our own practice, we had been asked to redesign ...... magazine. The images of the following covers are what I have designed by playing around with the different aspect it may look like. Almost forgetting the main points...the text had to be in helvetica and the colour for the text was restricted to black or white; the idea of having helvetica for the text was ok but I had little problems with keeping to the colour restriction but eventually had to work with it... but i decided to change everything and add colours.
I didn't complete it so that why it still looks a little rough.

Bloomberg outcomes

Coming to the end of this project, i came out with this outcome which i though was a good option but it seems that i slightly went off brief since i was told that the constructive lines have no relation to the 'Comma' exhibition. this project was not one of my best projects but i was slightly disappointed that what i did went a bit off brief. As you can see, the following images are the step which i did to design the publication.

I went to the Tate and looked at this exhibition as i was curious to find out what sort of work he did and i also needed to be inspired for the bloomberg project.
His work were really appealing to me as i was stupefied by how effective constructivism because of the composition of all them shapes. One of the piece that amazed me was the big one where i think there are three/four people playing poker but you can only see it if you move further away from it. The image below is what i have been talking about.

Bloomberg Space

For this project, we have been asked to design a book that would be showing twenty artist work which are being exhibited at the bloomberg gallery. The twenty artists all together formed 'COMMA' which is the exhibition name. Each artist had their own referred colour and their own comma style (comma changing forms on individual artist).
It is my first time designing a book so i do hope that everything will go accordingly planned.
